Job Title: Operations Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:  Reviews store sales trends, profit and loss statements and other information to gain actionable insights to improve store performance. Interfaces with store operations to help provide clarity and information on current store performance.  Generates reports and budgets for the Operations on a weekly and monthly basis.  Helps prepare and maintain corporate budgets.   Assists in special projects as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares/maintain monthly store sales budgets for the sales bonus program.
  2. Prepares/maintains weekly payroll budgets and the store payroll reporting system.
  3. Maintain and control the network of trash vendors servicing the stores.
  4. Assist store operations on questions regarding weekly payroll, sales budgets and trash.
  5. Reconcile and correct errors in sales and payroll reporting.
  6. Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators for the stores to spot trends and make performance improvement recommendations. – Example sales-per-square foot, inventory turnover and labor efficiency
  7. Work with operations to help implement new initiatives and rollout best practices
  8. Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts, etc.) taking into account company’s goals and financial standing.
  9. Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
  10. Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis.
  11. Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models.
  12. Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts.
  13. Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  14. Gain and update job knowledge to remain informed about novelty in the field.
  15. Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function.
  16. Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.

1.  Performs other work related duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

   EDUCATION: 

                        2 yr. Accounting/Finance Degree           

WORK EXPERIENCE:

                        1 to 2 years related experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1.  In-depth knowledge of accounting principles/theory.

2.  Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Oracle GL, IBM TM1 and mainframe interface.

3.  Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of salary information and financial plans.

4.  Ability to organize and prioritize work.

5.  Strong analytical, verbal, and written skills.

6.  Ability to work independently in a deadline driven, multitask environment.
